OUR STORY

“Rest easy, we’ll take it from here.” This phrase graces countless memorials and resonates in speeches whenever a brother or sister falls in the line of duty. Austin Duran is no exception; these words were spoken and written many times after his passing.

Austin Duran drew his final breath on July 15th, 2022, a casualty of injuries sustained while bravely serving. His passing was a stark consequence of inadequate training and leadership within his Fire Department. Now that he rests easy, the responsibility lies with us to “take it from here,” enrich, and extend his legacy.

Found posthumously, Austin’s letter serves as our cornerstone. In his words, he envisioned a Fire Department culture dedicated to enhanced training, mentorship, and resolute leadership. His aspiration was to nurture an environment where seeking help is embraced, fostering a collective drive toward comprehensive improvement.

Our mission is to carry forth his vision, offering training, education, mentorship, and leadership opportunities to firefighters near and far, thus breathing life into his enduring legacy.
